Revlon Matte Balms in Striking and Unapologetic Review

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Unapologetic and Striking

I may be late to the bandwagon, but I picked up a couple Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms a little bit ago and have fallen in love. If you have been reading this blog for a while you will know that I absolutely adore the original Balm Stains but I was a bit hesitant about matte balms. Would they be drying? How well will they wear? These actually surprised me on all accounts. They are very pigmented and easy to apply! I don’t have to build the color up at all and it is opaque in 1 pass.

Both pencils are actually quite moisturizing, despite being a matte formula. My lips didn’t get dry or flaky after wearing these and they wore very well throughout the day. There was no settling into lip lines or patchy fading. I would definitely recommend trying these out; I know I already have 3 other colors on the way!

Maybelline FaceStudio Blush Stick in Pink Fever Review

Maybelline Master Glaze Pink Fever

There have been some GREAT collections out in drugstores lately. Every time I go into Ulta I’m bombarded with things I just “have to have” but usually resist. When I saw these blush sticks, I just couldn’t talk myself out of it. They look like tiny NARS Multiples… but they perform better in my opinion.

Maybelline Master Glaze Pink Fever 2

While there are only a few colors to choose from right now, Pink Fever is beyond gorgeous. If they expand the color range, I will certainly buy more. Pink Fever works well on cheeks AND lips. It’s very soft, so I like to swipe this on my lips as a sheer wash of color to compliment my cheeks.

What I love most about this product is the pigmentation. When I swipe the stick on my cheek, I don’t have to press hard to get a bright and vibrant color. Once it is on, I grab a dense buffing brush and sheer the color out. It wears well beyond my work day (8+ hours) and still looks super vibrant.

The FaceStudio Blush Sticks are definitely my favorite cream blushes at this price point. They stay put, are very affordable, and are perfect for travel.

Face of the Day with Palladio Cosmetics

In an effort to jazz it up on my blog, I am bringing you a face of the day using (mostly) Palladio cosmetics. I’ve already reviewed their Rice Powder (see here) and loved it. Palladio cosmetics are available a and Ulta. The prices are super reasonable and I even saw them at Ulta yesterday for BOGO 50% off. I may need to stock up on more lip balms!

What I Used:

Palladio Mosiac Blush in Pink Truffle

Mosaic Blush in Pink Truffle ($8): This was the perfect bright, but not too bright pink for my skin. All 5 colors can be swirled together, or you can use the bottom half for a darker blush and the upper half for a brighter hue. This lasted a full workday on without fading.

Palladio Silk FX Eyeshadow Boudoir Chic 2

SilkFX Eyeshadow Palette in Boudoir Chic ($12): What drew me to this palette was definitely the colors. These purples are smooth and wearable, but can come off a bit powdery. I found they wore about 6 hours before fading when used with an eyeshadow primer.

Palladio Rice Powder Translucent

Rice Powder ($5): Definitely a repurchase worthy product. See my full review here.

Palladio Shadow Liner Crayon in Moonstone 2

Shadow and Liner Crayon in Moonstone ($6): This is such a multipurpose product! It’s a light champage color that I used over the lid as a base, in the inner corners of my eyes, and on my browbone. Talk about a multitasker!

Palladio Eye Ink in Smokey

Palladio Eye Ink in Smokey ($6): This liner is super easy to apply and I love the gray. A good dark gray liquid liner is hard to find and this lasts all day long.

Palladio Lip Balm in Golden Pink

Herbal Tinted Lip Balm in Golden Pink ($4): This stuff is amazing. No other way to say it. It’s pigmented, keeps my lips moisturized and I’m already plotting which ones to purchase next. The golden shimmer in this pink is perfect for the Spring and reminds me of a lip color form of NARS Orgasm.

Palladio Eyebrow Powder Auburn 2

Brow Powder in Auburn ($6): This brow powder reminds me a lot of my Anastasia Brow Duo in Auburn but is about a third of the price. I’ve had trouble in the past finding a good brow powder at the drugstore and this fits the bill. It is easy to use, even for the brow-impaired like me!

Palladio Rice Powder Review

Palladio Rice Powder Translucent

Today’s review is for a product I have been curious about for quite a long time: Palladio Rice Powder. I had watched a few UK blogger videos about another brand of rice powder that isn’t available in the US and got instantly curious. When I found out Palladio made one of their own, I had to give it a shot.

A little bit about Rice Powder taken from the Palladio site:

“Rice Powder is the refined starch from rice, known as Oryza Sativa. The powder of rice has been used for centuries in the ancient art of Ayurveda, a holistic healing practice. It is used as a poultice that soothes inflamed acne and skin ulcerations. It has been used by Asian women in their facial makeup and to wash their skin since the 16th century. It is considered an emollient rich skin treatment.

Rice products absorb excess oils, thus maintaining proper pH levels in the skin’s mantle. “

The powder comes in a square box with a thin puff. The lid pops on and off instead of screwing on, so I would not recommend this for a handbag as it could spill.

It looks a tinge yellow in the container, but not once it is blended in. The rice powder is very finely milled and smooth; a real treat to wear on the skin. I feel like I have nothing on, yet my imperfections look blurred. I’ve been using this to set my liquid foundation and it doesn’t look as cakey as powders have looked in the past. I’ve also found that this product keeps my oily t zone at bay throughout the day resulting in less touchups.

Palladio Rice Powder retails for around $5 at Ulta and and is an absolute steal. This is something I will 100% repurchase in the future; it even dethroned my beloved MAC Pro Setting Powder!
